Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 September 2026
In short: Marklab does not collect, transmit or store any personal data. There are no servers, no accounts and no analytics. Every photo, PDF and video you open stays on your device.
Who we are
Marklab is developed and published by CLK Company. This policy explains how the Marklab iOS application handles your information. You can reach us at tech@clk.company.
Data we collect
None. Marklab has no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporting service and no user accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and the app does not create any profile about you.
Your files
Photos, PDFs and videos you select are read, processed and written back entirely on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. Watermarking, batch processing and metadata removal all run offline, which is why the app works with no network connection at all.
Intermediate results are written to your device's temporary folder so the app can show a preview and let you export the result. iOS clears that folder on its own, and you can also clear it by removing the app.
Data stored on your device
- Watermark presets. The styles you save are kept in the app's own local storage on your device. They are not synced or backed up to us.
- Purchase state. Whether Marklab Pro is unlocked is remembered locally so the app can start quickly without waiting for the store.
Both are removed when you delete the app.
Purchases
Marklab Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payment, billing and receipt handling are managed by Apple, and Apple's privacy policy applies to that part of the transaction. We do not see your payment details, and we receive no personal information from Apple about who made a purchase. The app only asks Apple's StoreKit whether a valid purchase exists for the current Apple Account.
Permissions the app asks for
- Photo library. Used only so you can pick a picture to work on and save the result back. Marklab does not read your library in the background or scan it in any way.
- Camera. Used only if you choose to take a new photo to watermark.
- Location. Marklab never requests your location. A usage description exists in the app because a bundled media processing library references the system location APIs, but the app does not call them and does not receive location data.
When you inspect a photo with the Hidden Data feature, any location shown comes from the metadata inside that photo file itself. It is read on your device, shown to you, and never sent anywhere.
Sharing your content
If you use the share button, iOS hands the file to the app you pick, such as Mail or a messaging app. From that point the receiving app's own privacy policy applies. Marklab is not involved in that transfer.
Children
Marklab is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Since the app collects no data at all, no information about children is gathered.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top. Significant changes will also be described in the app's release notes.
